About Unix Hosting
Unix hosting is the most common type of hosting offered today.
Typically, hosting on a Unix platform will cost less than other
platforms such as Windows, and many consider the Unix platform to
be superior.
Unless you have a compelling reason to prefer a non-Unix host (e.g.
using ASP or Microsoft SQL), you should definitely choose Unix hosting
plans. Almost all of the hosts on our various lists offer Unix hosting
for their base plans.
In case you were wondering, Linux is a very similar operating system
to UNIX. In the hosting industry, Linux hosting is basically considered
to be the same thing as hosting on UNIX.
